Just throwing a few ideas out there regarding the menu icon..
1)
It would eliminate a click each time the user does this – if the user could single click directly on the icon to imediately show or hide the Dadman window (like a toggle depending on if the main window is open or closed), and a right click on the menu icon would give the menu option to ‘quit’ to fully exit the app.
2)
if the DADmon settings are set to “menu bar only”, that Command Qing the window didn’t also kill the tray.. it’s just an innate Mac user muscle memory thing to close the window along with Command W in this context. I’m sure many DADman users agree, you’re never wanting to kill the app, just close the window instead.
3)
If the menu app ran as a system service – although I suppose selecting ‘open at login’ or dropping in login items accomplishes the same.. just so it’s immediately ready to go upon startup
Cheers!
Neil
Hi Neil,
(We gotta stop meeting here – my wife is getting suspicious.)
Replies:
1: Yeah, that could work.
2: This is most relevant to people using Monitor Profiles, so yeah, It also ties in to #3
3: That’s what I do. Just open at Login always.
