I have set up my AX64 for preamp control from Pro Tools and when I adjust gain from within Pro Tools it is properly mirrored in DADMan. How can I get the reverse to happen? 1) Without receiving data from DADMan, Pro Tools does not properly retain current preamp settings when opening a new session. 2) Sometimes I want to make the adjustments in DADMan because it is already open for whatever reason. 3) With the new grouping feature in DADMan, controlling grouped preamps from Pro Tools breaks the sync of the groups. So if I want to adjust a grouped preamp I currently need to do it from DADMan, which is then not properly reflected in Pro Tools.
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out.
The short version is that you can’t and your issues caused by this are correct.
There is no workaround I can offer you, I’m afraid. The PRE/MIDI implementation is a feature that there are no current plans to expand or update.
DADMan control is always the way to go in our world.

That’s awfully disappointing. Not sure why MIDI AvidPRE control is even a feature if you are aware that it doesn’t work, don’t recommend using it, and won’t be updating it to full functionality.
Hello again,
It is a time tested feature that works very well for the people who have it already implemented.
We are always looking at good ways to integrate our products and I am hopeful that we will be able to give you a solution in the future that is more suited to your requests.
Best,
J
