Hi Jon,
I’ve sent this email to you on multiple occasions, and I struggle to see why it doesn’t get to you..
I am going to post it here now, so you (and everyone else) can get the info – I hope it helps:

Hi Jon (great name)
First off, sorry for the delayed response, combination of vacation and a mail server that wasn’t forwarding support emails to me.
You are correct to contact AVID on this – We are at all times required to forward any support issues with their branded devices to them.
I will however just ask you if you’ve updated the Dante firmware for all of our devices that came out alongside the device firmware ?
We’ve changed the functionality of Sync To External for consistency with the Sync parameters in DADman, but you should have the latest Dante Firmware installed.
Essentially, to avoid conflicting parameters, the Enable Sync is moved exclusively to DADman where it’s easily set by choosing any other sync source than the Dante network.
Before, you could set it in DC – but it would then immediately fall back if the device had a different setting.
Now it works like this:
[I had a video here, which I will have to recreate]
I know this is not your specific issue, but I just wanted to mention it because it shows a fundamental change in the behavior that we’ve made.
This is done because our devs have corrected the logic underneath the Dante controller to be in line with the new features.
If you’re getting error in DDM, they are asking that you pay close attention to PTP clocking to see if that is what is throwing up the error.
First off the bat – new Dante Firmware for all devices and cards.
Then feel free to send us some logs and screenshots if you’re still experiencing errors.
Best from Copenhagen.
